Welcome to the Maryland Bid Committee for the 54th International Conference of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous (I.C.Y.P.A.A.). This committee is dedicated to reaching out to AAs throughout Maryland's Areas 29 and 13, through working to complete the requirements to bid for the 54th I.C.Y.P.A.A. as outlined by the Advisory Council, the custodian of the Conference.  We hold frequent events and seek to connect AAs across the State. 
 
The purpose of our bid committee meeting is for members of the committee to give a report and address matters regarding bidding requirements and the committee as a whole. In keeping with AA's Steps, Traditions, and Concepts, we are not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; we do not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorse nor oppose any cause. There is no age limitation to be involved with our bid committee or its sub-committees.   
 
Please note, our bid committee meeting (similar to Area level assemblies and intergroups) run in accordance to Robert's Rules of Order, a book outlining parliamentary procedures. If you feel like taking a drink or would like to discuss AA principles we encourage you to speak to someone after our meeting. We are all willing to be of service and would be happy to take you to an AA meeting and discuss more fully the program of AA as our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. Similarly, as in any meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous, the only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.
